Tez Wealth Privacy Policy

1) Scope

This Policy applies to our websites, web app, and mobile apps (collectively, the “Services”). By using the Services, you consent to the practices described here.

2) What we collect

a) Information you provide

• Account & profile: name, email, authentication info (e.g., Google sign-in).
• Financial inputs: goals, budgets, or notes you add in the app.
• Support content: questions, feedback, or files you send to support.

b) Information from connected financial accounts

When you connect bank, card, brokerage, or other accounts through an account-aggregation provider (e.g., Plaid), we receive account identifiers, balances, holdings, and transactions (including merchant, amount, date, category, and recurrence) so we can power spending trends, budgets, recurring-charge detection, and insights.

We do not receive or store your bank login credentials. Your credentials are provided directly to the aggregation provider.

c) Automatically collected data

• Usage & device: pages/screens used, clicks, session duration, approximate location (from IP), device/browser type, app version.
• Diagnostics & crash data: error events and performance telemetry needed to maintain stability and improve the product.

3) How we use information

We use your information to:

• Deliver core features (account aggregation, transaction normalization, budgets, recurring-charge detection, net-worth, and insights).
• Provide AI-generated financial insights (see Section 4, AI Processing).
• Operate, maintain, and improve the Services (analytics, testing, troubleshooting).
• Communicate with you (product updates, security notices, support).
• Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce Terms.

Our internal docs require privacy-preserving practices in the AI pipeline and emphasize “Security & Privacy in AI Processing,” which this policy reflects.

4) AI processing

Tez Wealth uses machine-learning and large language models (LLMs) to analyze your financial data and generate personalized insights and summaries. To protect privacy, we:

• Mask or minimize sensitive inputs sent to the model where feasible.
• Maintain prompt/response versioning and fallback behavior for quality and auditability.
• Share only the minimum necessary data with our model provider and prohibit use beyond providing the AI service.

You can opt out of certain analytics-driven personalizations (see Section 10: Your Choices).

5) Legal bases (EEA/UK users)

We process personal data under these bases: Contract (to deliver the Services you request), Legitimate Interests (to secure, improve, and support the Services), Consent (where required, e.g., certain analytics/cookies), and Legal Obligations.

6) How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• Service providers / processors who support the Services and are bound to use data solely on our instructions, including:
  • Account aggregation (e.g., Plaid) for connecting financial institutions.
  • AI model provider (e.g., Azure OpenAI or equivalent) to generate insights (with masking/minimization).
  • Hosting & infrastructure (e.g., Vercel for web hosting; mobile build/distribution services).
  • Database (e.g., managed cloud databases).
  • Product analytics (e.g., to understand feature usage and improve UX).
  • Error monitoring & crash reporting (e.g., to debug and enhance stability).
• Compliance and safety: when required by law, legal process, or to protect users, the public, or our rights.
• Business transfers: in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, subject to this Policy or a successor policy with equal or greater protections.

We implement organizational and technical safeguards and require comparable protections from our providers, consistent with our internal security and AI-privacy practices.

7) Data retention

We retain personal data only as long as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Factors include account status, feature usage, regulatory requirements, and our need to maintain reliable backups and logs.

8) Security

We use administrative, technical, and physical controls designed to protect personal data, including encryption in transit and at rest, strict access controls, and layered monitoring. We also follow privacy-preserving practices in our AI workflows (see Section 4).

9) International data transfers

We may process and store data in the United States and other countries with different data-protection laws than yours. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses) for cross-border transfers.

10) Your choices & rights

• Access, correction, deletion, portability: Email support@tezwealth.ai to request a copy, correction, deletion, or export of your data.
• Disconnect accounts: You can disconnect linked financial accounts in-app; future data will stop flowing, and we will cease updates from those accounts.
• Marketing preferences: Opt out of non-essential emails by using our unsubscribe link or contacting support.
• Analytics controls: Contact support to limit certain analytics-based personalizations.

Region-specific rights:

• California/CPRA & U.S. state laws (VA/CO/CT/UT):you may request access, deletion, and correction; we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
• EEA/UK: you may object to or restrict processing and lodge a complaint with your local authority.

We will verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests and may deny requests where an exception applies.

11) Children’s privacy

The Services are not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16; if we learn we have, we will delete it. Parents/guardians who believe a child has provided data may contact support@tezwealth.ai.

12) Cookies & similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Services, remember preferences, and measure engagement. Where required by law, we request consent for non-essential cookies. You can adjust your browser/device settings to limit cookies, which may impact certain features.

13) Third-party links & social media

Our Services may include links or integrations to third-party sites and platforms. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Please review those policies before providing personal data to third parties.

14) Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll notify you by email or an in-app notice and update the Effective Date above.
